Baseball Recap: Berman Hebrew Academy Cougars vs. St. Anselm's Abbey Panthers
Berman Hebrew Academy extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-4 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Anselm's Abbey Panthers. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Noah Lichtman and Eitan Schwartz stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lichtman earned two runs and two stolen bases, while Schwartz went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those hits marked the first that Schwartz has got this season.
As for St. Anselm's Abbey, they now have a winning record of 5-4. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.
On St. Anselm's Abbey's side, Philip Libanati was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
Berman Hebrew Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Anselm's Abbey, they will square off against Spencerville Adventist Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
