While Jefferson Davis County's win against Seminary wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jaguars won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 9-8. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

D'Zayvianna Peyton made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off eight hits. Peyton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Kavionna Myers was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. August Mikell was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Jefferson Davis County's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Seminary, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Jefferson Davis County will venture away from home to challenge East Marion at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Seminary, they will face off against Magee at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.3 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
