Soccer Game Preview: MAST Academy vs. South Dade

The MAST Academy Makos will take on the South Dade Buccaneers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. MAST Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.6 goals per game this season.

MAST Academy gave up the first goal last Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over Coral Reef.

MAST Academy hit Coral Reef with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mencia Delafuente, Luisa Verswyvel, Florencia Alvarez, and Daniela Sanchez-Zaccaria.

Meanwhile, South Dade had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let the Bulldogs onto the board and left with a 3-0 win. Give the Buccaneers' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

South Dade is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for MAST Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1-2.
