Baseball Recap: Cooper City Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cooper City walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the South Plantation Paladins a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 4-1 victory back in March.

Vito Faridani tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Cooper City has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Plantation, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.

As of now, neither Cooper City nor the Paladins have any future games scheduled.
