Football Recap: Mission Viejo Piles Up the Points Against St. Paul

After only seven points in their last matchup, Mission Viejo made sure to put some points up on the board against St. Paul on Friday. The Diablos blew past the Swordsmen, posting a 58-14 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Diablos' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Swordsmen are ranked 156th).

Luke Fahey had a dynamite game, throwing for 375 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.5% of his passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground. Those 375 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Jack Junker also helped out with an impressive 117 receiving yards.

Mission Viejo pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.4 points over those games. As for St. Paul, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Mission Viejo will square off against Folsom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Paul, they will take on Damien at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
