Football Recap: Mission Viejo Skates Past St. Paul with Ease

After only seven points in their last game, Mission Viejo made sure to put some points up on the board against St. Paul on Friday. The Diablos blew past the Swordsmen 58-14. With the Diablos ahead 37-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Luke Fahey was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 375 yards and four TDs while completing 88.5% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Those 375 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Jack Junker was another key player, picking up 117 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Mission Viejo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Hicks and Jeron Jones. Brady Bowman was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making 11 total tackles, and defending two passes.

Mission Viejo has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 17 points this season. As for St. Paul, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Mission Viejo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-14 victory against Folsom on the 5th. As for St. Paul, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 38-28 defeat against Damien on the 5th.
