Football Recap: Mission Viejo Piles Up the Points Against St. Paul

After only seven points in their last match, Mission Viejo made sure to put some points up on the board against St. Paul on Friday. The Diablos took their contest with ease, bagging a 59-14 victory over the Swordsmen. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-0.

Luke Fahey was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.5% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Those 375 passing yards gave him a new career-high. KJ Woodbury JR was another key player, picking up 123 receiving yards and one score.

Mission Viejo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Hicks and Jeron Jones. Brady Bowman was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making 11 total tackles, and defending two passes.

Mission Viejo has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 17 points this season. As for St. Paul, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Mission Viejo will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Folsom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Paul, they will head out to take on Damien at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
