Softball Recap: Naples Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Naples can now relate to. They lost 17-0 to the Barron Collier Cougars on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Naples saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elle Gant, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Naples dropped their record down to 6-17 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 5.25 runs. As for Barron Collier, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-9 record.

Naples does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Barron Collier, they will challenge Lely at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
