Football Recap: St. Anthony's Piles Up the Points Against Kellenberg Memorial

St. Anthony never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Kellenberg Memorial on Friday. They blew past the Firebirds 48-20. With the Friars ahead 34-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.

St. Anthony's was led to victory by Xavier Bala and Anthony Diieso. Bala rushed for 146 yards on only ten carries, while Diieso threw for 201 yards and one TD while completing 77.8% of his passes.

Kellenberg Memorial lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brandon McCabe, who picked up 51 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jaden McLeod was another key rusher, rushing for 68 yards and one score.

The victory got St. Anthony's back to even at 2-2. As for Kellenberg Memorial, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Anthony's will welcome Monsignor Farrell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 853 yards in their previous games. As for Kellenberg Memorial, they will host St. John the Baptist at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
