Baseball Recap: Allen Starts Season with Win on the Road

Allen had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sasakwa Vikings a 16-0 shutout. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Alex Hill made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hill was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Landin Tenequer was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Briar Heck, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Allen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sasakwa only posted an OBP of .273.

Looking ahead, Allen will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Coleman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sasakwa, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Wewoka at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
