Softball Recap: Shoals Jug Rox vs. White River Valley Wolverines
Shoals was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 22-11 to the White River Valley Wolverines.
Hannah Cook and Hadley Haulk stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cook got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Haulk got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Those runs marked the first that Cook has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maisie Kidwell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Shoals' defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for White River Valley, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-16.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Shoals will square off against Orleans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Jug Rox's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for White River Valley, they will take on North Central at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
