Basketball Recap: Paris Falls Despite Big Games from Carter Eastham and Jackson Rigdon

Paris and Lawrenceville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Paris had to settle for second. They took a 57-41 bruising from the Lawrenceville Indians. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Paris had strong showings from Jackson Rigdon, who posted 13 points and eight assists, and Carter Eastham, who had ten points and seven rebounds. Rigdon is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Lawrenceville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Wilson, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and three blocks. Thanks to that strong game, Wilson now owns an excellent 45.4% field goal percentage. Zander Cessna was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 16 points.

Paris' loss dropped their record down to 18-15. As for Lawrenceville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

Paris does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lawrenceville, they will challenge Warrensburg-Latham at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Warrensburg-Latham comes in on 14 and Lawrenceville on three.
