Basketball Recap: Odyssey Institute Has No Trouble Against Tonopah Valley

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Parker, Odyssey Institute was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They strolled past the Tonopah Valley Phoenix with points to spare, taking the game 34-16. The contest marked the Minotaur's most dominant victory of the season.

Gwendolyn Carricart was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a triple-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Shelby Hunt was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Odyssey Institute smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Despite the defeat, Tonopah Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Natalie Bolton posted eight points and 11 rebounds.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-16. As for Tonopah Valley, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-20.

As of now, neither Odyssey Institute nor Tonopah Valley have any future games scheduled.
