Soccer Recap: Mentor Blanks North

Mentor gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They never let the North Rangers get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Mentor were the better team in the second half.

The victory improved Mentor's record to 1-0. As for North, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-1.

Mentor wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Avon Lake on the 17th. As for North, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Cleveland Heights on the 18th.
