Basketball Game Preview: Caston Comets vs. North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays

The Caston Comets will head out on the road to challenge the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Caston is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Lewis Cass just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. The matchup between them and the Kings didn't end well, with Caston falling 42-23. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Kings are ranked 125th).

Caston's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Grace Colvin, who posted ten points, and Allison Craig, who had two points.

Meanwhile, North Judson-San Pierre came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game with ease, bagging a 64-19 victory over the Wolves. The Bluejays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season.

North Judson-San Pierre pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Caston, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Caston strolled past North Judson-San Pierre in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 43-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Caston since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
