Preview: Kennedy Commanders vs. Holy Family Tigers

The Kennedy Commanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Holy Family Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.

Kennedy fell victim to Lutheran's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 49-0 loss at the hands of the Lions. Having soared to a lofty 50 points in the game before, Kennedy couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Holy Family had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They breezed by Lincoln at home to the tune of 63-0. Considering Holy Family has won four matchups by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Holy Family had a senior duo take command as Rylan Cooney threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes and Simon J litzau rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns. J litzau was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Gabriel, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown.

The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Lutheran's win pushed their record up to 7-2, while Kennedy's defeat dropped theirs down to 2-7.

Kennedy was taken down by Holy Family 36-6 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will Kennedy have more luck at home instead of on the road?
