Recap: Akiak Thunderbolts vs. Kalskag Grizzly Bears
The Akiak Thunderbolts lost against the Kalskag Grizzly Bears back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Akiak was beaten by Kalskag 51-21. Akiak has not had much luck with Kalskag recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Kalskag's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Danielle Levi, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kristyn Gregory-Ausdahl, who scored ten points.
Akiak now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Kalskag, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Akiak won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tuluksak on January 19th. Tuluksak comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Kalskag, they will head out on the road to square off against Aniak at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
