Softball Recap: Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs vs. St. Dominic Crusaders
Fort Zumwalt South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-3 to the St. Dominic Crusaders. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2018.
Kaylee Daniels was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Atherton, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Fort Zumwalt South hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive contests.
