FISHER, Ill. -
Aaron Carter ran for two touchdowns and
Conrad Thomas added two as well as
Fisher (Ill.) upset
El Paso-Gridley (El Paso, Ill.) 41-26 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Brody Farrar to
Hayden Fiedler in the first quarter, the Bunnies were up 14-6 at the half.
Fisher expanded its lead to 15 points entering the fourth quarter. FHS scored once in the quarter on a punt return touchdown by Carter.
The final outcome was shocking, as the Bunnies was ranked No. 335 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Illinois, far below El Paso-Gridley's spot at No. 282.
The win was a nice bounce back for Fisher, which lost to Flanagan/Woodland last week, 32-17. The defeat comes as a step back for El Paso-Gridley, which notched a 28-14 victory over Tremont in its previous outing. The loss snapped El Paso-Gridley's two-game winning streak.
In a Heart of Illinois game next week Fisher (5-2) takes on Deer Creek-Mackinaw, and El Paso-Gridley (3-4) will go up against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley also in a Heart of Illinois game.
