Baseball Game Preview: Wayne Eagles vs. Mynderse Academy Blue Devils

The Wayne Eagles will square off against the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne will be strutting in after a win while Mynderse Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Wayne's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Honeoye Falls-Lima. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Cougars on their field since May 23, 2018.

Meanwhile, Mynderse Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Newark on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Reds by a score of 8-6. Blue Devils fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Reds since on Monday.

Wayne's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Mynderse Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Wayne took their victory against Mynderse Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
