            Basketball Recap: Stevenson Pirates vs. Monte Vista Christian Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            Stevenson was the  64-60 winner over Monte Vista Christian when they last played one another  last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Stevenson Pirates fell just short of the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs by a score of  54-52 on Monday. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs  22-11 in the first  quarter.
 Stevenson lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Kekoa Williams, who  went 5 for 6  on his way to 14 points and eight  rebounds. Williams continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played.  Cooper Olin was another key player,  putting up ten  points and eight  boards.
Stevenson has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record  this season. As for Monte Vista Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
 Stevenson has already played their next game,  a  68-62  defeat against Watsonville on the 29th. As for Monte Vista Christian, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  contest,  a  68-50  loss against Rancho San Juan on the 29th.
