Recap: Deep Run Wildcats vs. Godwin Eagles
The Deep Run Wildcats waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Godwin by a score of 55-43. That's another feather in the cap for Deep Run, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why Godwin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reagan Nemeyer. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Ross, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Deep Run pushed their record up to 13-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Godwin, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Deep Run will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Hermitage at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Godwin, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Louisa County at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Godwin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
