Baseball Recap: Eagle Valley Devils vs. Battle Mountain Huskies

In what's become a running theme this season, Eagle Valley gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 13-5 margin over the Battle Mountain Huskies. The victory was just what Eagle Valley needed coming off of a 14-7 loss in their prior contest.

Ricardo Gutierrez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Colter Blakey, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

On Battle Mountain's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Franco Moreno, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Moreno has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.

Eagle Valley's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs per game. As for Battle Mountain, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
