Baseball Game Preview: Schenectady Patriots vs. Lansingburgh Knights

The Schenectady Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Lansingburgh Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Schenectady hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Schenectady lost 13-2 to Saugerties on Monday.

Oliver Verett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.

While Lansingburgh didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 10-7 win over Tamarac on Wednesday. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Lansingburgh also got a great performance from Ethan Luby as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Brayden Wilkinson was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Tyler Monge was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lansingburgh pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average this season. As for Schenectady, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
