The Brunswick Blue Devils will take on the Revere Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Brunswick will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Brunswick's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Keystone by a score of 4-0.
The result came thanks to Gabby Diligente's shutout, as she gave up just five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ava Beas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Compton, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Brunswick hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Revere got the win against Columbia on Thursday by a conclusive 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Minutemen, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Sydney Kreighbaum was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Sydney Firca was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Brunswick pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Revere, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brunswick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .416. However, it's not like Revere struggles in that department as they've averaged .380. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brunswick skirted past Revere 6-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Minutemen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
