League recap: Desert Ridge extends winning streak with victory over Desert Mountain

Adding to the longest winning streak in I Section III this week, Desert Ridge beat Desert Mountain 56-10. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Jaguars.

Desert Ridge took down the Wolves 56-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Taren Morrison ran for 284 yards and caught 1 pass for 21 yards in the win.

Morrison was a force in the backfield as Jeremy Hathcock's team topped Desert Mountain.

John Clark threw for 342 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 34-62 with 1 interception.

Clark Brown was the best receiver in the league this week as Mountain View fell to Pinnacle. Brown tallied 12 receptions for 123 yards. Robby Millward helped Mountain View's passing attack out by catching 11 balls for 109 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Toros' Clark and Brown have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Clark has thrown for 3,040 yards this season, while Brown has 72 catches for 1,306 yards. Morrison from the Jaguars leads the league in rushing with 2,112 yards.

In 165 carries Deion Warren has put up 941 yards this year.

Red Mountain made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 356 from 603. The advance stemmed from a 34-7 victory over Highland last week.
