Softball Recap: Anthem Prep Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Anthem Prep waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Antelope Rams as they made off with an 11-4 win. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly seven runs.

Bailey McCabe was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Rhyan Cantelme was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Molly McCabe, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Anthem Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Antelope only posted an OBP of .323.

Anthem Prep pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Antelope, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anthem Prep will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bagdad at 3:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Antelope, they will host Salome at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
