Morenci has gone a perfect 3-0 against Superior recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Morenci Wildcats will face off against the Superior Panthers at 12:00 p.m. Superior took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Morenci, who comes in off a win.

Morenci took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against San Tan Foothills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Morenci won by a run and slipped past San Tan Foothills 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 11, 2024.

MJ Aguilar looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Christopher Carbrajal was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Superior was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They lost 11-1 to Safford. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Joel Romero was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

The win got Morenci back to even at 1-1. As for Superior, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Morenci came out on top in a nail-biter against Superior in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will Morenci repeat their success, or does Superior have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
