Preview: Eastern Randolph Wildcats vs. Wheatmore Warriors
The Eastern Randolph Wildcats will be playing at home against the Wheatmore Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eastern Randolph has seven straight wins, Wheatmore has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Eastern Randolph got themselves on the board against Providence Grove, but Providence Grove never followed suit. They blew past the Patriots, posting a 47-0 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Eastern Randolph, who have now won six matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Carter Revelle was his usual excellent self, throwing for 155 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Wheatmore lost to Trinity at home by a decisive 27-12 margin on Friday.
Eastern Randolph's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating across those games too: they took their wins by an average of 36 points. Wheatmore has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Eastern Randolph against Wheatmore when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 62-0 victory. Will Eastern Randolph repeat their success, or does Wheatmore have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
