Brainerd's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Chattanooga Central Pounders with points to spare, taking the game 23-6. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Brainerd didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Emery Foster and Brandon Sutton Jr.

Brainerd's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Chattanooga Central, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Brainerd and Tyner Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 1:00 p.m. on the 25th. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games. As for Chattanooga Central, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chattanooga Prep on the 24th. The Pounders will be up against the Sentinels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
