Football Recap: Evansville Reitz Panthers vs. Evansville Harrison Warriors
Evansville Reitz took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They were the clear victor by a 49-27 margin over the Evansville Harrison Warriors. With the Panthers ahead 28-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Evansville Reitz had a senior duo take command as Jasseim Ussery rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry and Landon Mcclarney rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Jamontre Johnson was another key player, rushing for 77 yards on only five carries.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Evansville Reitz was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 481 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Evansville Harrison lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anthony Bavone, who rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evansville Reitz will take on Vincennes Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
