Basketball Game Preview: Minneapolis Southwest Lakers vs. Edison Tommies

The Minneapolis Southwest Lakers will head out to square off against the Edison Tommies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Minneapolis Southwest's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

On Monday, Minneapolis Southwest was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to Roosevelt.

Meanwhile, Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Hiawatha Collegiate and fell 77-35. While losing is never fun, the Tommies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Hiawatha Collegiate are ranked 153rd).

Edison's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Minneapolis Southwest, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-9.

Minneapolis Southwest strolled past Edison in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 63-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Minneapolis Southwest since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
