Hackleburg took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mars Hill Bible, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Hackleburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Mars Hill Bible on Monday, sneaking past 4-3. Hackleburg's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Laine Steward made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Steward was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payten Herron, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Saylor Cooper also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Hackleburg lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Hackleburg pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mars Hill Bible, their record is now 1-1.

Hackleburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-4 win against Carbon Hill on the 7th. Mars Hill Bible has also already played their next game (against Wilson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
