Volleyball Recap: Meridian Warriors vs. Ridgevue Warhawks
Meridian was the 3-0 winner over Ridgevue when they last played one another back in September of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Meridian Warriors fell just short of the Ridgevue Warhawks by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meridian took Ridgevue into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 15-25, 15-9.
Meridian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colleen Barnhart, who had eight digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of London Pugmire, who had six digs and three aces.
She wasn't the only good server: Meridian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2023.
Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Ridgevue, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.
Meridian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Skyview on the 15th. Ridgevue has also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Kuna on the 15th.
