Recap: Rangeview Raiders vs. Fairview Knights
The Rangeview Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Fairview by a score of 68-65. Even though they lost, Rangeview's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.9 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Rangeview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Archie Weatherspoon V, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mareon Chapman, who scored 14 points.
Fairview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Toray Davis led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The contest was Davis' third in a row with at least ten points. Spencer Brown was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Rangeview has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Fairview, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Rangeview will head out on the road to face off against Ralston Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ralston Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Rangeview likes a good challenge. Fairview will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Legacy at 12:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
