Baseball Recap: Montverde Academy Find Success + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Montverde Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past The First Academy Royals 7-5. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered an 11-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Alex Bello tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Mauricio Zaa was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Miguel Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Montverde Academy and bumps their season record up to 16-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for The First Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-10 record.

As of now, neither Montverde Academy nor the Royals have any future games scheduled.
