Basketball Game Preview: Academic Magnet Raptors vs. Timberland Wolves

The Academic Magnet Raptors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Timberland Wolves at 6:30 p.m. Timberland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Academic Magnet, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Academic Magnet turned things around against Andrews on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over the Yellowjackets.

Meanwhile, in Tuesday's Canine Competition, Timberland didn't have enough. They fell to Burke 46-41. The Wolves' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Academic Magnet will need focus on slowing down Kennahdi Murrell, one of several Timberland players who made an impact when they last played. She went 5 of 12 en route to 13 points and three steals. Murrell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Prioleau, who posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Timberland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.
