Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Beats Oakridge for Their Second Straight Win

If Oakridge wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Covenant Christian, they should've done a better job of containing AJ Guerra. Everything went the Covenant Christian Cougars' way against the Oakridge Owls on Thursday as the Covenant Christian Cougars made off with a 66-45 victory thanks in part to Guerra, who went 11 for 15 on his way to 27 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those 27 points gave him a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Covenant Christian and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Oakridge, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Covenant Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-25 defeat against Grace Prep on the 5th. As for Oakridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-40 loss against Prestonwood Christian on the 6th.
