Basketball Recap: Palm Beach Gardens Comes Up Short

Palm Beach Gardens and Wellington squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Palm Beach Gardens had to settle for second. They lost 70-49 to the Wellington Wolverines. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Gators have suffered against the Wolverines since December 12, 2017.

Wellington was led to victory by Tor-El Robinson and Lucas Moore. Robinson went 10 for 12 en route to 23 points along with five rebounds and four blocks, while Moore went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points and six boards. Those four blocks gave Robinson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Manny Hernedez, who posted five points.

Palm Beach Gardens has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season. As for Wellington, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

Palm Beach Gardens does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wellington, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-46 victory against Lake Worth on the 7th.
