Softball Game Preview: Lakeview Centennial Patriots vs. Wylie Pirates

Lakeview Centennial is 0-8 against Wylie since March of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lakeview Centennial Patriots will face off against the Wylie Pirates at 11:00 a.m. Lakeview Centennial has given up an average of 16.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Monday just wasn't the day for Lakeview Centennial's offense. They lost 22-0 to Garland on Monday. The Patriots' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Wylie came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Owls as they made off with a 17-11 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Wylie pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Lakeview Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Lakeview Centennial suffered a grim 27-0 defeat to Wylie when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Lakeview Centennial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
