Baseball Recap: Lyon County Takes a Loss

The Lyon County Lyons didn't have quite enough to beat the Lexington Catholic Knights on Saturday and fell 8-7. The Lyons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Korben Lucas was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Austin Spears was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double.

Even though they lost, Lyon County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lyon County's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lexington Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 6-3-1.

Looking ahead, Lyon County will face off against Fishers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lexington Catholic, they will welcome Paul Laurence Dunbar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Paul Laurence Dunbar's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Lexington Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
