Milton has won four straight games at home, while Pace has won four straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Panthers will welcome the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Milton had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Walton on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Braves.
Destiny Dennis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adrienne Yoder, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Milton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pace). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Gulf Breeze a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The Patriots have beaten the Dolphins the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dolphins has come to flipping the script.
The result came thanks to Zoe Freeman's shutout, as she gave up just two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gracie Ueberroth, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Cox, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Milton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Pace, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.
