Softball Recap: Three Straight Road Victories for Strathmore

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woodlake, Strathmore was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Corcoran Panthers get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Spartans have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Gracie Gillis, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Corcoran off the board. Gillis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mollie Gillis, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Drew Anderson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Strathmore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 9-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Strathmore pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Corcoran, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Strathmore has already played their next contest, a 10-8 win against Granite Hills on the 12th. As for Corcoran, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-0 defeat against Woodlake on the 12th.
