Basketball Game Preview: Marysville Getchell vs. Snohomish Panthers

Marysville Getchell will venture away from home to face off against the Snohomish Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Marysville Getchell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season.

Marysville Getchell is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Monroe just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 51-37 bruising from the Bearcats. The matchup marked Marysville Getchell's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Arion Palacol put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 16 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Harris, who earned ten points.

Meanwhile, Snohomish hadn't done well against Stanwood recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Snohomish enjoyed a cozy 63-46 victory over Stanwood.

Marysville Getchell's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Snohomish, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.

Marysville Getchell skirted past Snohomish 53-50 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marysville Getchell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
