Basketball Game Recap: Crandall Pirates vs. Royse City Bulldogs

Crandall lost against Royse City back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pirates might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 67-64 to the Bulldogs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Crandall lost, don't look at Tj Taylor. Despite the final result, he shot 75% from beyond the arc on his way to 36 points. Thanks to that strong game, Taylor now owns an excellent 41% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Franklin, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 19 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Crandall suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Royse City, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Crandall will square off against Dunbar at 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Royse City, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mesquite at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Skeeters have now posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
