 In what's become a running theme this season, Hanover Central gave their fans yet another huge  win on Wednesday. They never let the Hammond Morton Governors onto the board and left with  a   16-0  victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hanover Central also won the last time the pair played  back in April of 2023.
  Payton Antkiewicz made a big impact no matter where she played. She  pitched  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (she also didn't allow any  walks). Antkiewicz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Antkiewicz was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-2 with three  RBI and a  double.
 In other pitching news,  Claire Edgerton looked comfortable as she  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (she also didn't allow any  walks).
 Back at the plate,  Sienna Stilley was a standout: she fired off two  home runs and five  RBI while going 2-for-2.  Delilah Freyman was another key contributor,  going 2-for-2 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Hanover Central pushed their record up to 4-1 with that  win, which was their 11th straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Hammond Morton, they now  have a losing record at 2-3.
 Hanover Central will head out on the road to  take on  Lowell at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Hanover Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 11.6  runs per game  this season. As for Hammond Morton, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Merrillville at 5:00  p.m. Merrillville hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the  team is eager to reverse.
