Basketball Recap: NSU University Falls to Archbishop Mccarthy in First Game of Season

NSU University unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks by a score of 38-35 on Friday. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Archbishop McCarthy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabby Greco, who posted 15 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Summer Kuchar, who had seven points and eight steals.

The win made it two in a row for Archbishop McCarthy and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

NSU University will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Boynton Beach at 6:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 45-42 victory against Donahue Catholic on the 22nd.
