Volleyball Game Preview: James Valley Christian Vikings vs. Wessington Springs Spartans

James Valley Christian and Wessington Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2018, but not for long. The Vikings will face off against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wessington Springs took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on James Valley Christian, who comes in off a win.

James Valley Christian took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Andes Central/Dakota Christian.

James Valley Christian was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 21-25, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Wessington Springs lost 3-0 to Hitchcock-Tulare on Tuesday. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

While Wessington Springs was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Hitchcock-Tulare's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-17.

Wessington Springs' loss dropped their record down to 12-17. As for James Valley Christian, their win ended a six-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-14.

James Valley Christian couldn't quite get it done against Wessington Springs in their previous matchup last Tuesday as they fell 3-1. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
