Baseball Preview: Sweet Home Huskies vs. Molalla Indians

The Sweet Home Huskies will face off against the Molalla Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sweet Home is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Sweet Home took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past North Salem 17-7. The high-scoring effort was just what the Huskies needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Kyle Zajic made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off only two hits. In other batting news, Luke Rosa was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Cohen Gutierrez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Molalla's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Sweet Home, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.
