Softball Game Preview: Indian Creek Timberwolves vs. Hiawatha Hawks

For the second straight game, Indian Creek will face off against Hiawatha. The Timberwolves will be playing at home against the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Indian Creek got the win against Hiawatha by a conclusive 15-1. The win continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won seven in a row.

MaKenna Barshinger and Avery Boehne were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Barshinger struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Boehne tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Barshinger went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Boehne went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Boehne a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mckenzie Greer, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Allie Peterson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Indian Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hiawatha is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13. As for Indian Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
