South Portland has gone 10-0 against Massabesic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The South Portland Red Riots will look to defend their home court against the Massabesic Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in South Portland's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Massabesic has been banged up by 12 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

On Monday, South Portland strolled past Gorham with points to spare, taking the game 63-45. Given the Red Riots' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Rams are ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Massabesic had to suffer through a 71-39 loss at the hands of Scarborough.

South Portland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Massabesic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Everything came up roses for South Portland against Massabesic in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, as the team secured an 82-22 victory. Will South Portland repeat their success, or does Massabesic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
